In the context of this article requirements, I will limit the discussion on two models, namely CIP and CASVE cycle.
These theories encompass both the characteristics of individuals and their context and the development and interaction between them. The career development is influenced to be either intrinsic to the individual or extrinsic from the context in which the individual lives, (3) theories of content and process have formed in response to a need for the approach to take into account both of these critical areas.
Career theories can characterize by methods in which these are a series of stages through which people pass, (2) theory of content is related to the characteristics of the individual, and the context they live in. There are: (1) theory of process is related to interaction and change over time. From the point of my view, career development is significant since it serves as a critical process and development of human beings functioning in society.Ĭareer theories fall into one of three categories. Among the major career development theories that have been widely used and are impactful in career counseling: Trait-Factor theory, Holland’s Career Typology theory, Super’s Lifespan/Life Space theory, Krumboltz’s Social Learning theory of career choice, and Constructivist theory/Model of career development. There are many or numerous career theories and models, and none of them is sufficient or perfectly to describe the broad field of career development.
